RSVora vs Jotform

Jotform is a serious form builder with an enormous template library, and there is an RSVP template in it, which is how it ends up compared with invitation products. The free plan is real but tightly metered: five forms, one hundred submissions a month, five hundred stored submissions in total, and Jotform branding on the form. Paid plans start around $34 a month. RSVora is an invitation product with no caps and no branding on your invitation. This page is about which side of the form-versus-invitation line your event falls on.

Where RSVora is different

When Jotform is the better choice

They genuinely do these better

  • One of the best form builders available, with conditional logic, calculations, validation, file uploads and a template library in the tens of thousands.
  • Payment integrations, so a form can take money through a wide range of providers.
  • Approvals and workflows on paid plans, which turn a form into a small business process rather than just a data capture.
  • Extensive integrations with spreadsheets, CRMs and automation tools, so submissions can go anywhere.
  • Accessibility and compliance options that matter to organisations with obligations, including HIPAA features on higher tiers.

Choose Jotform when you are building a form rather than sending an invitation: complex questions, conditional logic, file uploads, payments, approvals or an integration into something else. It is much better at all of that than any invitation product. Choose RSVora when the thing you are sending is an invitation, when you want per-guest reply tracking and automatic reminders without building a workflow, and when 100 submissions a month is not a number you want to think about.

The free plan has three ceilings, not one

Jotform's free tier is often described as 100 submissions a month, which is true and incomplete. There are three separate limits and they bind at different times.

Five forms, which is fine unless you run several events or keep old ones around. One hundred submissions a month, which is a decent allowance for a single event. And five hundred stored submissions in total, a lifetime cap that persists whether or not you clear old data.

The third one is the surprise. A community group that runs one form a month for two years hits it without ever having exceeded a monthly limit, and the form stops accepting responses at the worst possible moment.

There are also 1,000 monthly form views and 100 MB of storage on the free plan, both of which are easy to reach if a form is shared widely or takes file uploads.

RSVora has no equivalent number anywhere: no cap on events, invitations, replies, views or storage.

Forms and invitations, again

This is the same line that runs through the comparison with Google Forms, but Jotform sits further along it because it is a professional tool.

A form asks questions and produces a dataset. Jotform does that exceptionally well: branching logic, calculated fields, validation, uploads, payments, approvals and integrations into whatever comes next.

An invitation announces an occasion and asks one thing. RSVora's reply is deliberately small so it can be counted: yes, no or maybe, adults, children, an optional note.

If you find yourself designing the reply, you want a form. If you find yourself designing the card, you want an invitation.

Branding, which matters more on an invitation than on a form

Free Jotform forms carry Jotform branding. On a business form nobody minds; it reads as normal.

On a birthday invitation it reads as a form somebody sent you, which is precisely the impression an invitation is trying to avoid.

RSVora adds nothing to the invitation your guests open: no logo, no watermark, no badge, no advertising, on any design at any guest count. What they see is the artwork, the details and the reply buttons.

Chasing people, which is the actual work

Any form gives you a pile of submissions. What it does not give you is the difference between the submissions and the guest list, which is the list you actually need: the people who have not answered.

On Jotform you can build that with a paid workflow, or maintain a spreadsheet and compare by hand.

On RSVora every guest has their own private link, so reply status is per person and visible at a glance. A reminder is scheduled automatically when you create the event, you can retime it or add more, and you can send a message to only the people who have not answered.

For an eighty-guest event over six weeks, that is the difference between an afternoon of admin and none.

The hybrid, which works well here

Because Jotform is so good at forms and so indifferent to invitations, the sensible pattern is to use both and let each do its half.

Send the RSVora invitation to get the reply, the headcount and the automatic chasing. Link a Jotform from the event description for anything complicated: dietary requirements with branching, a photo upload, a payment for the coach.

Only the guests who said yes will fill it in, which keeps you inside the free submission allowance far longer than sending the form to everybody would.

Questions

Is Jotform free?

There is a free Starter plan limited to 5 forms, 100 submissions a month, 1,000 monthly views, 100 MB of storage and a 500 total stored submission cap, with Jotform branding. Checked 2026-08-25.

What is the 500 submission cap?

A lifetime limit on stored submissions on the free plan. It applies even if you never exceed 100 in a month, and it is the limit most long-running free accounts hit first.

How much does Jotform cost?

Bronze is around $34 a month billed annually, Silver around $39 and Gold around $99, with higher limits at each tier.

Can Jotform track who has not replied?

Not directly. A form has one URL, so per-guest status requires a separate list or a paid workflow. RSVora gives each guest a private link and shows status per person.

Can RSVora do conditional questions?

No. Replies are structured as yes, no or maybe plus adult and child counts and an optional note. For anything more complex, link a form from the event.

Does RSVora brand my invitation?

No. Nothing is added to the invitation your guests open, on any design at any guest count.

Which should a small charity use?

Both, probably. An invitation for the social events, and Jotform for the form-shaped things, watching the free submission caps carefully.
